Springtime at DJs Sydney

Garden Club member Hazel King writes … “I visited David Jones Flower Show at the beginning of September.   The theme ‘Attraction’ celebrated the powerful sensory engagement of flowers and their distinct scents.  Two ‘models’ were draped in hundreds of roses, carnations, dahlias, grown on farms in Ecuador and  Kenya. Spectacular Phalaenopsis. Oncidium, Vanda and Cymbidium orchids were imported from Malaysia, Vietnam and Taiwan.   Of particular interest to viewers were the large displays of Begonia elatior, red, yellow, pink, apricot, white, some with fringed petals. Large branches of flowering cherry, peach and plum were placed on high cabinets therefore filling space above display cabinets. A  great attraction – a feast for the eyes.”
