Speaking about bees

If there is anything you have always wanted to know about bees, then we have found the right person to ask.

Bee expert, Louie Kelbert will be the guest speaker at the Garden Club’s September meeting.  Louie is a bee-keeper, honey distributor and recognised authority on bees and, while some of us only think about honey as we put the crumpets in the toaster, the bees that produce this sumptuous sticky nectar play a vital role in the global ecosystem.

With millions of bees in hives on the south coast and mid north coast of New South Wales, Louie is sure to have numerous tales to tell us about bees, their quirky habits, importance to our gardens and significance to the environment.

Come along and hear Louie speak at our next meeting on Tuesday 16 September at 7.30pm at St Luke’s Church Hall in Princess Street, Berry.  Garden Club meetings are always enjoyable evenings filled with lots of information and good company.  It’s a great place to meet the locals and a tasty supper is also provided.
