An evening in Pukekara Park

Garden Club members, Robin and Ros Brooks have a love of travel and of gardens so it is probably no surprise that they fell in love with New Zealand, specifically the gardens in the south of the North Island.

As our guest speaker for May, Robin will focus on two internationally renowned New Zealand gardens – Pukeiti Garden which boasts over 2,000 rhododendrons across 52hectares of parkland in the heart of New Plymouth; and Pukekura Park, one of New Zealand’s premier botanical gardens and Garden of National Significance.

In addition to a diverse range of native and exotic plants, walking trails and garden features discovered in these magnificent locations, Robin is particularly enthusiastic about the display houses of Pukekura Park which he is keen to tell us about.

This is sure to be a captivating talk beautifully illustrated with slide images by Ros Brooks.

The meeting is on Tuesday 19 May at 7.30pm at St Luke’s Church Hall, Princess Street in Berry.

Everyone is most welcome to attend; there is no entry charge.
