Friendship Through Gardening

The Berry & District Garden Club is delighted to have so many active and interesting people in our Club, all of whom bring knowledge, enthusiasm and a love of gardens with them to our meetings and on the various garden trips and excursions we include in our activities.

The Club meets every 3rd Tuesday of the month (between February and November) at 7.30pm. Everyone is most welcome to come along, listen to guest speakers, purchase bargain-priced plants and enjoy talking  with experienced local gardeners as well as newcomers to gardening – and to the district.

Our Club is registered with Services NSW and has a QR code for use at all of our events. Now we are registered, the club has to comply with COVID-19 safe rules, including masks when required, hand sanitising and distancing.

 

The Club holds two highlight events each year; the Camellia & Floral Show in August and the Berry Gardens Festival in October.

Garden Club members also enjoy keeping Berry beautiful.  Due to the current social restrictions  regular working bees have been stopped however Club members usually work at Berry Courthouse, maintaining the new George Street Park and as required, at the School of Arts prior to the Camellia and Floral Show, the RSL Memorial prior to Anzac Day, and in Apex Park – prior to the Gardens Festival. These generous Garden Club members, under the friendly guidance of a co-ordinating fellow gardener, prune, weed, dig and mulch the gardens that give pleasure to all who pass by. We are always happy to have extra helpers to join us for about an hour or so every month.
